Jack Ride

This is Canada’s Ride for Youth Mental Health.

No matter what path we’ve taken to get here, we are all connected by our journeys with mental health. Held each spring, Jack Ride moves  towards a single destination: positive change for youth mental health.

Jack Ride fuels Jack.org’s essential programs – Jack Talks, Jack Chapters, and Be There – that work with youth in communities across the country to teach mental health fundamentals, reduce stigma, and create peer-to-peer connections for young people to own their mental health journeys.

Suicide is still the leading health-related cause of death for youth in Canada. Countless young people live with ’that feeling’ of anxiety, stress, despair, or loneliness. It’s a crisis that’s hard to see and harder to live through.

Across classrooms and campuses, in communities throughout the country, Jack.org is helping countless young people take charge. By learning mental health fundamentals, reducing stigma, and clearing the way for conversation and support, they own their feelings, and help others do it too. It’s a movement of a generation for their generation and the moment to act is now.

For 15 Years, Jack Ride has powered Jack.org’s mission to build communities and systems that support mental health.

That looks like:

More people know how to support each other through a mental health struggle.

53,000+ people have been trained through our Be There certificate.

"It's important to have the tools to support friends, classmates, and community members, which is why the Be There Certificate is so valuable. It taught me that support looks different for everyone and emphasizes connecting people to the right resources as a key step in their mental health journey." -Olivia, Be There Certificate holder

More young people have essential mental health education.

300,000+ young people have been reached through Jack Talks.

“I think back to when I was in high school and it was common to see people get made fun of for talking about mental health - which feels isolating. You might not have someone to talk to, but with Jack Talks you hear from someone who’s in a similar situation, sharing their story, which makes you feel like you're not alone.” -Saria, Jack Talks attendee

More young people have improved mental health in their communities.

13,000 young people have been part of Jack Chapters.

“Every young person deserves to have someone that they feel comfortable talking to. Through chapters, youth are equipped with education and advocacy sessions to then go and make changes in their own communities.” -Leyan, Jack Chapters Member

Youth mental health in Canada has been in decline for over a decade. More young people than ever before are living with depression, anxiety, and a sense of helplessness.
